About

Debuting in the 09/10 season, Soho Rep’s FEED program is an eclectic series of post-show moderated talks, live Q&A sessions and on-line content. We aim to explore not only the making of our productions, but the themes these plays address. By engaging with some of the smartest and most exciting thinkers/artists/academics and cultural commentators, we hope that your visit to Soho Rep will be enriched by these added activities.

This program is unlike other “post-show” talks you might have been to. By giving equal weight to both theater artists and experts from other disciplines, FEED will contextualize the work on Soho Rep’s mainstage in bold and striking ways. Whether it is moviemakers talking about the themes of sickness and death or scientists and architects discussing man versus nature, we hope these broad and intimate post-show chats will give our audiences something to chew on.

FEED is also on-line, with the aim of letting you, the audience, get a little closer to our artists, performers, staff and technicians. Drop by the website to see our artists discuss their work, watch an excerpt of a rehearsal, get to know a playwright’s previous work through a photo slide-show of previous production stills accompanied by narration, or download a podcast about how our theater runs behind-the-scenes.

FEED will also be something to take home with you. Soho Rep aims to publish the playscripts of the work we produce, when appropriate. It is our hope that upon visiting the theater, you will be able to purchase both current and past Soho Rep plays for a fraction of the price you would pay in a bookshop, as well as browse other books by Soho Rep alumni, and books with thematic connections to our work.

Our aim is to FEED you before our plays, during the production, and long after you’ve gone home.
